WOW Story: From Credit Struggles to Homeownership

Joseph, a young member, visited our Shelton branch recently to open an account, and shared that his credit score was holding him back from his dreams. He had a charge-off from another credit union but was actively making payments. Our team member, Charlie, guided him through applying for a Payday Alternative (PAL) loan to pay off half of the debt and provided valuable credit counseling.

Six months later, Joseph returned with exciting news—his credit score was the highest it had ever been, and he was preparing to buy a home! Thanks to Charlie’s advice, he had built strong financial habits and had already scheduled an appointment with our mortgage officer, Hollyanna.

We’re proud of your progress, Joseph, and best of luck on your home search!
