Accessibility
At Peninsula Credit Union, we are committed to accessibility in both our online and physical branches. With a mission to help dreams become reality, provide individualized products and services, and service our members with a dedicated staff, we firmly believe in making the online experience excellent for all individuals.
THE STANDARD MET
We have taken steps to ensure the Peninsula Credit Union website complies with the best practices from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
This means the website meets or exceeds the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES OF THE WEBSITE
Some of the accessibility features of the website include but are not limited to:
- Visual contrast
The visual presentation of text and images of text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 and/or meets large text or logotype requirements. - Non-text alternatives
Text is used to convey information rather than graphics or images of text, or alternative text accompanies it when necessary. - Structured markup
Information, structure, and relationships conveyed through presentation are programmatically structured to convey the same relationships in the code. - Data cell labeling
All data cells in a data table are associated with their headers. - Resizable text
Text can be resized using modern browser functionality and/or assistive technology. - Keyboard focus
All functionality of the content is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes. - No Timing
Moving, blinking, scrolling, or auto-updating information is not an essential part of any content on the site. - No Flashing
Web pages do not contain anything that flashes more than three times in any one second period, which is known to cause seizures. - Link Purpose (In Context)
The purpose of each link can be determined from the link text alone or from the link text together with its programmatically determined link context, except where the purpose of the link would be ambiguous to users in general. - Consistent Navigation
Navigational mechanisms that are repeated on multiple Web pages within a set of Web pages occur in the same relative order each time they are repeated, unless a change is initiated by the user.
For additional requirements met at the WCAG 2.0 AA level, see the comprehensive list provided by W3.
COMMITMENT TO ONGOING IMPROVEMENT
As new innovations in accessibility features become available, Peninsula Credit Union will continue to update and improve the website. If you have any questions or comments, we would be happy to hear from you, please get in touch.
