WOW Story: A Fresh Start, A New Beginning

Woman fixing car

Starting a new job is exciting. But for one member, Kristina, it was also overwhelming. A single mother of three, she had lost almost everything. Just a few months into her job, her car was repossessed right in the parking lot at her job. It was a devastating moment, but instead of feeling judged, she found something unexpected—a team that cared.

Charlie, our Assistant Branch Manager in Shelton, and Darla, our Lending Director, stepped in, not just as team members, but as people who wanted to help. They quickly secured a debt consolidation loan for Kristina, helping her get her car back the very next day. Jennifer, our Shelton Branch Manager, also reached out, offering encouragement and letting Kristina know that she wasn’t alone in her struggles. With this support system in place, Kristina started rebuilding her finances.

Today, Kristina’s credit score has skyrocketed, she feels financially secure, and she’s thriving in her career. More than a credit union, she found a community that believed in her when she needed it most. This is the power of a supportive financial family!
