Send and receive money with Zelle

A fast, easy way to send money to friends, family, and people you know and trust — right from Peninsula Credit Union’s digital banking.

A Simple Way to Move Money

Zelle® is a convenient way to send and receive money with people you know and trust using an email address or U.S. mobile phone number. Money is sent directly between eligible bank accounts, typically within minutes when both parties are enrolled.

Whether you’re splitting dinner, paying the babysitter, or sending money to family, Zelle® is available through Peninsula Credit Union’s digital banking experience.

How to Get Started

Getting started is easy

  1. Log in to Peninsula Credit Union digital banking.
  2. Select Send Money with Zelle®.
  3. Enroll with your U.S. mobile number or email address.
  4. Choose the recipient, enter the amount, review the details, and send.

Important: Always make sure you’re sending money to the right person before you hit send.

Only Send Money to People You Know and Trust

Zelle® moves money quickly, which is why it’s important to slow down before sending. Treat payments with Zelle® like cash: confirm the recipient’s U.S. mobile number, email address, or Zelle® Tag before sending money.

Use Zelle® for people and small businesses you trust. If someone pressures you to send money quickly, asks you to pay in an unusual way, or offers a deal that feels too good to be true, pause before sending.

Helpful safety reminders:

  • Only send money to people you know and trust.
  • Double-check the recipient before sending.
  • Be cautious with marketplace purchases, ticket sales, job offers, puppy listings, and other common scam situations.
  • If something feels off, contact Peninsula Credit Union before sending money.

Zelle’s own education materials emphasize the difference between fraud and scams. Unauthorized transactions may have different protections than transactions you authorized, even if you were tricked.

Zelle® is a great way to send money to family, friends, and people you are familiar with such as your personal trainer, babysitter or neighbor.1

Since money is sent directly from your Peninsula account to another person’s bank account within minutes1, Zelle® should only be used to send money to friends, family and others you trust.

If you don’t know the person or aren’t sure you will get what you paid for (for example, items bought from an online bidding or sales site), you should not use Zelle®. These transactions are potentially high risk (just like sending cash to a person you don’t know is high risk).

Some small businesses are able to receive payments with Zelle®. Ask your favorite small business if they accept payments with Zelle®. If they do, you can pay them directly from our MyPCU app or online banking using just their enrolled email address, U.S. mobile number, or Zelle® tag.

Neither Peninsula Credit Union nor Zelle® offers purchase protection for payments made with Zelle® – for example, if you do not receive the item you paid for, or the item is not as described or as you expected. Only send money to people and small businesses you trust and always ensure you’ve used the correct email address or U.S. mobile number when sending money.

This is why it’s important to only send money to people you know and trust, and always ensure you’ve used the correct email address or U.S. mobile number when sending money.
