WOW Story: A Farewell Funded with Compassion in Port Orchard

Susan, a longtime member of our Port Orchard branch, has spent years working with Matt to strengthen her financial health. When she first joined PCU, Susan was facing high credit card balances that were negatively impacting her credit. Matt helped her consolidate her debt and set up a plan to pay it down, one step at a time.

Through their ongoing partnership, Susan’s credit gradually improved, and she gained financial confidence. Then, tragedy struck—her mother passed away unexpectedly. Susan wanted to travel to handle funeral arrangements and honor her mother’s memory, but she wasn’t sure how she would afford it.

Because of the progress she and Matt had made over the years, we were able to approve a small loan quickly. That support meant Susan could be with family during an incredibly difficult time, without the added burden of financial stress. The relationship she’d built with PCU paid off in the moment she needed it most.
