We are proud to announce that our Chief Experience Officer, Kyle Lauderdale, was recently honored as a Patriotic Employer by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR)! This prestigious award recognizes supervisors and employers who demonstrate exceptional support for employees serving in the National Guard or Reserve. The award was presented at our headquarters branch, where Kyle was celebrated by his peers and community members.
Kyle was nominated by Dawson Brown, our former Risk and Compliance Officer, who is currently serving on active duty. Dawson’s heartfelt nomination highlights the extraordinary support and understanding Kyle has shown for Dawson’s military service commitments. We eagerly await Dawson’s safe return and are grateful for his service.
Kyle’s leadership embodies the spirit of inclusivity and compassion, which is at the heart of Peninsula Credit Union’s mission. On receiving the award, Kyle shared, “It’s an incredible honor to support employees like Dawson, who make the selfless decision to serve our country. At Peninsula Credit Union, we are committed to creating an environment where all employees, including those serving in the National Guard and Reserve, feel valued and supported in every way possible.”
The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense program dedicated to fostering strong relationships between employers and employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. Through resources, recognition, and education, ESGR helps ensure that service members can balance their civilian careers with military duties.
The Patriotic Employer Award is a special recognition given to supervisors or managers who go above and beyond to support their employees’ military service. This includes showing flexibility, providing necessary accommodations, and fostering a supportive work environment.
Reflecting on the recognition, Kyle added, “This award is a reflection of our entire team’s dedication to supporting those who serve. We’re not just coworkers here—we’re a family, and we stand behind one another, especially during challenging times.”
The event was a heartfelt reminder of the importance of supporting our service members, both at work and in their personal lives. We’re deeply grateful to Kyle for setting such a positive example of leadership and to Dawson for his service to our nation.
